The Challenge
Danske Commodities, an energy trading company, wanted to transition from manual trading decisions to algorithmic strategies. They had the domain expertise but lacked the ML engineering capability to build, test, and deploy trading models safely.
Our Approach
Rather than just building algorithms, we helped Danske Commodities build an internal team capable of maintaining and extending the system. Our engagement combined delivery with capability transfer:
- Infrastructure — built a backtesting framework, feature store for market data, and a model deployment pipeline with risk guardrails.
- Strategy development — co-developed four initial trading strategies with their quantitative analysts, covering intraday power markets.
- Team building — helped recruit and onboard two ML engineers, establishing coding standards and review processes.
The Result
Within 6 months, Danske Commodities had four production trading strategies running 24/7 with automated execution and risk management. The internal team now independently develops and deploys new strategies using the infrastructure we built.
"No One didn't just build us algorithms — they built us a team and a platform. That's the kind of partnership that creates lasting value."
— Head of Algorithmic Trading, Danske Commodities
